Hipster eye candy from the 60s

A couple of hip-looking bohemian dudes ambling around the Village in the 1960s. The first guy is strolling down St. Mark’s Place. The photo is from John Gruen’s 1966 guidebook The New Bohemia.

The bohemian-on-the-street photo below ran in 1965’s The New Inside Guide to Greenwich Village in a section under bookstores. Looks like he’s buying—or selling—records.

Note the two dudes have similar beards, haircuts, and coats. They make today’s skinny-jeans-wearing, T-shirt-clad hipster look like adolescents!
