Outer-borough cats behind bars

This guy and some pals are summering in a parking lot in Borough Park. It’s not so bad; someone leaves food out for them.

I don’t know where this fella found that fish-shaped silver plate, but it’s an appropriate place for a feline to lie down for an afternoon nap once that Bronx sun gets cooking.

Peacocking around at St. John the Divine

This handsome peacock didn’t feel like showing off his plumage tonight, but that’s okay. He was gracious enough to share the bench with us later.

There used to be several peacocks on the Cathedral grounds at 112th and Amsterdam Avenue. Anyone know what happened to them? Hopefully they weren’t snatched as pets or didn’t become part of an exotic dinner.

It’s tough out there on the mean streets of Clinton Hill. This little guy is the house cat at a local bodega, but he really likes sitting by that tire.

Pulling a carriage full of tourists all day long is tough work. Time for this old boy to turn in to his stable on 38th Street and 12th Avenue.
