Furry and feathered pets in an East Village mural

June 17, 2013

Graffiti artist Chico paints colorful murals all over Manhattan—including this East Ninth Street homage to some of the cats, dogs, bunnies, and birds of the neighborhood.

It appears outside Whiskers, a holistic pet supply store, and it’s a sweet reminder of the furry and feathered New Yorkers we share the city with.

The pets painted on an East Harlem facade

Graffiti artist Chico painted this mural in 2001 on the side of a building at Third Avenue and 103rd Street. Animal Care and Control—the city pound—is up the block on 110th.

His animal-themed murals are (or were?) all over the East Village. The Local East Village has a few here.
