Crossing the Atlantic on the Red Star Line

Red Star Line steamships traveled from Belgium to New York and Philadelphia from 1871 until the 1930s. This 1899 poster by Henri Cassiers depicts a 16,000-ton passenger ship named the Westernland.

The company—not to be confused with the White Star Line, which owned the Titanic—had its New York office at 9 Broadway, at the southern tip of Manhattan.
